China’s scrap imports increase in November

According to statistics, China's scrap imports totaled 362,000 tons in November, rising by 16% year on year and increasing by 12.2% from a month ago.

Among them, 190,000 tons were from Japan, falling by 28%; 118,000 tons were from the US, soaring by 3352.4% and 26,000 tons were from Hong Kong, jumping by 67%, all compared to the figures in the same month of 2012.

In the January-November period, China's scrap imports amounted to 4.151 million tons, falling by 7.4% year on year.

Therefore, it's estimated that China's scrap imports would be at 4.53 million tons in the whole of 2013.
